Engineer FH Viticulture and Oenology

The area of responsibility of FH Viticulture and Oenology engineers covers wine production from the vine to the delivery of the wine to the consumer. When planning viticulture, they take into account the site characteristics of the vineyard and the anatomy and physiology of the vine. They decide on plant nutrition and plant protection and create ideal conditions for propagation and yield formation. During the winemaking process, UAS viticulture and oenology engineers select the appropriate vinification and bottling techniques depending on the grape variety, quality and desired product. In the laboratory, they monitor the development of the wine using microbiological, chemical and sensory analysis methods. They then analyse the results and document the winemaking process.
