Cashier

Cashiers usually work at the checkout of a retail business or in the catering sector. They are responsible for serving customers, ensuring smooth payment transactions and closing sales at the till. They usually work with modern till systems and operate the till, scan the goods using the shop's till system and collect the price of the goods. They also process complaints and exchange goods. If required, they also help customers to pack the purchased goods. They are also responsible for shelf maintenance and product presentation in the checkout area. Due to self-scanning and self-checkout, they also have to take on more tasks at these checkouts/stations.
