Production managers are responsible for part or all of the manufacture of a product or product series. The products can be of a physical nature, for example industrial products, agricultural products or products of a commercial enterprise. However, they can also be of an intangible nature, for example cultural products (films, exhibitions, etc.) or IT products such as software or websites. Production managers usually lead a group of employees. They can report to various positions within a company, for example directly to the management or the head of department. They may also be self-employed or temporarily employed by a company to carry out a specific production.
