Creative & DesignMusicologists analyse all aspects of music as well as the cultural and cultural-historical contexts of musical works and movements. They describe and compare musical sources from all eras. Sub-areas of musicological research include instrumentology, notation (analysing sheet music and musical texts), performance practice and the theory of composition and form (counterpoint and harmony).
