Intelligence Service Staff

Employees of the Federal Intelligence Service (FIS) collect and analyse information on Switzerland and abroad that is relevant to Switzerland's security. They combat terrorism, espionage, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and violent extremism. The FIS protects Switzerland's critical infrastructures. In particular, it obtains and utilises information that is not publicly known. To protect its sources and employees, the FIS often works undercover.
