Customers expect a purchased product to be delivered and installed in perfect condition. They also expect optimum service in the event of faults. Technical customer service managers are responsible for the service department in manufacturing and trading companies. They develop a service concept that is in line with the company's guidelines. Based on the current company policy, technical customer service managers draw up a demand and capacity utilisation plan as well as a revenue and cost budget. In doing so, they take into account the interrelationships within the company: for example, they know how the individual areas of purchasing, production, marketing, sales, customer service and administration influence each other.
