Agricultural Worker

Nature & Environment

Agricultural employees work on a farm. They harvest fruit and vegetables, help with haymaking, grain harvesting, wood harvesting, milking and feeding, animal care and household chores. Permanent farm workers sometimes live with the farming family and carry out the tasks assigned to them independently. This work is often done by people from neighbouring countries who come to Switzerland for a few weeks/months. These seasonal workers are deployed during periods of increased workload, for example during vegetable and fruit harvests.
