Property managers receive management mandates from house or condominium owners. They ensure the efficient management of rental properties and condominiums. They select tenants for initial lettings and re-lettings, draw up tenancy agreements and amendments to tenancy agreements, accept notices of termination and ensure that the properties are accepted and handed over. Property managers organise caretaking staff for properties, recruit employees and draw up their contracts and specifications. They also obtain quotes from tradespeople for renovations, refurbishments and conversions, check the price-performance ratio and hire suitable candidates. For this task, they need a good knowledge of construction technology.
