Hydrogeologist

Hydrogeologists deal with underground water resources and the interaction between groundwater and rock. They explore underground water resources, analyse quality and contamination and deal with the use and protection of groundwater. They carry out investigations, draw up water protection maps and groundwater maps, measurements and modelling or deal with the strategic planning of water resources. They prepare hydrogeological reports for planning or structural water protection and advise on construction projects. They investigate, for example, the possibilities of utilising groundwater for heating purposes, examine the potential, yield and quality of spring water and groundwater or carry out seepage tests to determine the water quality.
