Helicopter Commercial Pilot

Transport & Logistics

Professional helicopter pilots carry out passenger transport flights such as sightseeing flights as well as business and taxi flights in Switzerland and abroad. They are also responsible for photo and ferry flights in the technical service. Professional helicopter pilots fly transport loads of various kinds, such as building materials, silos, cars, residential barracks, timber, but also livestock and complete mountain railway and ski lift systems. They also move air conditioning systems in new buildings and lay pressurised pipes. Assembly work involving the installation of masts for high-voltage power lines, large aerial systems or tall chimneys is particularly demanding. Such jobs can take up to seven hours and require maximum concentration, as the load often has to be placed with centimetre precision.
