GIS specialists use geographic information systems (GIS) in planning and administration. They thus ensure that a large amount of information is managed, that several planning variants are examined and that areas of conflict are identified and visualised. They keep abreast of the ongoing development of the necessary hardware and software, methods and procedures as well as project organisation.
