Trade Union Secretary BP

Business & Administration

Trade unions represent the interests of the working population vis-à-vis the social partners from business, government and politics. They ensure that the economic, socio-political and legal conditions on the labour market are improved and optimised through collective labour agreements. Trade union secretaries are important contacts for social partners, authorities, associations, political parties and other organisations, with whom they work closely as required. These organisations also include selected European partners or those from the global trade union movement. Together with interest groups and shop stewards from these areas, they try to recognise their needs and develop and implement appropriate strategies
