Specialist in Forensic Medicine

Forensic medicine deals with questions from criminal, civil and insurance law practice that can only be answered with the help of scientific methods (medicine, chemistry, biology), for example, specialists in forensic medicine clarify unusual deaths in which a criminal offence cannot be ruled out in advance. For example, they examine people after bodily injuries and sexual offences; they carry out DNA analyses. They advise investigating authorities, affected persons and relatives in connection with unusual deaths or offences, discuss the case on an ongoing basis during a post-mortem and then compile the findings into a report and make initial assumptions about the cause of death.
