Specialist in Pneumology

Specialists in pneumology (lung diseases) deal with the structure and function of healthy and diseased respiratory organs. In addition to prevention, they carry out diagnostic and therapeutic measures for the treatment of lung diseases. They work together with doctors from other specialist areas, in particular allergology/immunology, intensive care medicine, sleep medicine, occupational medicine and thoracic surgery. They care for outpatients and hospitalised patients with respiratory diseases and are responsible for pneumological consultations.
