The aim of a genetic examination is to detect or rule out a genetic disease or predisposition to it. To do this, they analyse the genetic material in the chromosomes and genes directly or indirectly. They recognise genetic diseases and their underlying predispositions using genealogical, clinical, biochemical, molecular genetic and/or cytogenetic examination methods; they diagnose and classify the diseases.
