Specialists in cardiology provide comprehensive hospital medical care and basic care in the field of cardiovascular diseases. They examine and care for hospitalised cardiac patients or look after them on an outpatient basis. They inform them and their relatives about the significance of the disease and actively support them with preventive measures. An important part of their work consists of diagnosing cardiovascular diseases using a wide variety of methods, e.g. ECG (electrocardiogram) or X-ray, and drawing up a treatment plan.
